 Of volcanic origin, the rhyolite is a stone formed by the magma whose name comes from the Greek "Rhein", literally translated by "flow" and "lithos" which means "stone". 

 This name, given by the German geologist Ferdinand Von Richthofen relates to the main components of the rhyolite which are quartz crystals, amphibole and feldspar. 
 Originally, the rhyolite assumed a glassy appearance, due to rapid cooling. In the parts where the cooling took much longer, the stone sports reflections of crystals which transform into very pretty patterns. 
 Rhyolite is a stone of very diverse colors , predominantly green, yellow, orange, ocher, brown and caramel.
